During today’s Nintendo Direct, we learned a lot of information about the future of the Smash Bros. roster.

Mewtwo will be coming April 28. The price will be $4.00 for each platform or $5 if you buy both 3DS and Wii U versions together.

Mewtwo will be released on April 28, Users who registered both a 3DS and Wii U version of Smash will still get their download for free.

In addition, Super Smash Bros. Update 1.06 will introduce a host of new options including new downloadable costumes for Mii Fighters, an updated photo mode, and more.

A sampling of the costumes you’ll be able to access include:

  • Cat Suit
  • Link
  • X (from Mega Man X)
  • Monkey
  • Majora’s Mask
  • Proto Man

Mii Fighter costumes will cost $0.75 for each costume either on 3DS or Wii U or $1.15 if you buy the 3DS and Wii U version simultaneously.

Despite an earlier statement that Mewtwo would be the only paid downloadable content for Super Smash Bros., Lucas from Mother 3 (and a previous Smash fighter) also made a surprise appearance. He’ll be coming out as downloadable content sometime in June.

But that’s not the end of DLC characters. Nintendo also announced a Smash Fighter Ballot site on the official Smash Bros. web portal where you can go to let Nintendo know exactly who you want to see in the game next.
