Apart from Ni no Kuni, the main event at this year’s TGS is the latest iteration of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. I say iteration because most of the changes are mechanical in nature, but they should appeal to the dedicated niche that has grown up around this series in the U.S. — even if it’s not a clear evolution for the series.
As always, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd revolves around picking from a variety of classes and taking down massive beasts; in this case, a creature called the Jinouga. It’s the leader of a new sub-species of wyvern, and the main opponent in the demo featured at TGS.
