Mindjack is a pretty straight forward game. The setting is in a future time stamp of AD 2031, your main character is named Jim Corbijn, a FIA Agent who is sent on a mission to locate a woman named Rebecca Weiss, who in fact is a anti-government activist.Things turn breasts up and your pushed into a Arcade style Third-person shooter RPG game taking out duck hunt candidates. Now the controls handle decently well, not over the top, but well. Granted when you go to pick up a clip of ammo from a matching gun, and your character moves away from cover. Thou the AI is not that intelligent to pick up on the easy target going for the semi-automatic. The few flaws I have seen seen in the games concept of game “hacking” is this. You have the option to swap off this, but for some this might be trouble-some. Example, a real life player comes into your game. How this works is you play through the campaign, and a real life player could start as a spectator, who can hop into almost anything from a robot, to the nearest soldier. While this is some of the most interesting and fun ideas for a game to allow the challenge to be booted, much like Demon’s Souls, where people can pop in as a red griefing phantom and gank you for no reason whats so ever. This game has a purpose with being a Red enemy. therefore again, this is optional, much like how Demon’s Souls allows this. This style of game play can be fun if your not focusing on the main stories objective and going about it as a competitive game mode.
The Gameplay is not bad at all. Flaws are to be had. I will describe some of the good about this game. The co-op aspect is pretty fun. When I mentioned the Hacking aspect it causes some bad during your stay in Mindjack but also great. If you are progressing through the game your colour is Blue, the Enemy who apposes your progression is Red. Pretty simple, right? Well I see it as this, while you can Mindslave Enemies who are on their deathbeds. You are granted a little help. If 2 or 3 players desire to make you into Swiss cheese, your boned. Your AI partner, Rebecca is well, freaking stupid in a flat out term. Yes you gain more partners along the way, but their all foolish and always use a handgun, leaving the weight of the combat on your shoulders. The story not feeling very grasping, it was what kept the story progressing, with again predictable conclusions. You soon just learn to enjoy what it is, or just ignore it and focus on the game play via Hacked games .
Closing thoughts: For a run of the mill Third Person shooter, it does provide some great fun if you have provided friends to play with. If your alone you might get tired along the way. There are still active players in the game. Provided on the PS3 copy. I felt the game hada lasting charm on me. With a few AI faults, that well you can not always get perfect AI unless its on a rail (for folks who do not know what that is, it means it knows what to do before the scene is played). This is not mindblowing, but still fun! I enjoyed the b movie style acting and the leveling system. Which provides you with Perks, that with some can boost your difficult from easy mode, to outrageously hard. While impressions of this game could displease those who have been playing these kind of games all along, the only thing that could post a great way to kill a few weekends is its co-op/ Hacked modes. Providing that Vs mode like in Left 4 Dead. The game by no means is bad, nor amazing. It is playable, the game mode, thou frustrating and annoying at times is pretty fun with other players and gives the game a addicting curve. The story mode was a little troubling to follow as it is very vague. Once I read the manual of the game it all made sense.
We give this title a 7.0
+Hacker mode Is fun.
+Gameplay is a mix of Arcadey and addicting
-Story and characters needed a little enhancement in the personality perspective
