The GameBurst team wants to offer a massive congratulations to the folks over at Midlife Gamer, who raised £2,000 for UK games industry charity GamesAid.
During this weekend’s Eurogamer Expo, founders Matt and Daren, plus their team at MLG and dozens of avid listeners crammed into O’Neil’s Pub and Grill in Earl’s Court, London. There, they hosted a pub quiz, an auction and a mammoth raffle, with hundreds of prizes donated by listeners, PR companies, developers and publishers.
Prizes ranged from games to merchandise to vouchers and specially commissioned artwork, including this marvellous oil painting of Marcus Fenix from Gears of War (click it to see it in its full glory), which on its own brought in more than £200 – and triggered an intense bidding war.

And anecdotally, it was your favourite twice-weekly, half-hour gaming podcast (no, not that one – us!) that triumphed in the quiz, thanks largely to our teammates: James “Mijmeister” Perkins from IDKFA, Alex Shaw from Digital Cowboys and listener Blue Wolf. Can you spot us?
