Last week, EA revealed the first information on the next Medal of Honor, which wasn’t all that much. With GDC this week, EA gave us some more information as it’s the last big chance before E3. From the information revealed, the best way to describe Warfighter’s story is what Epic Games did with the characters for Gears of War 2. Let’s break down the information and cut out the small talk.
The game as far as we’ve been told follows the character you met in the 2010 Medal of Honor title, Preacher. While on combat deployment and trying to balance the time he has with his family, he struggles to remember what he is fighting for; the people he loves, his family. “But when a deadly explosive known as PETN penetrates civilian borders and his two worlds collide, Preacher and his fellow teammates are sent in to do what they do best – solve the problem.” The game is going to be taking you across different regions of the world, from rescuing hostages in the Philippines, to taking out Somalian pirates.
As the 2010 title dealt with only the US Tier One operatives, Danger Close Games is going to be opening up the opportunity for other countries to interact with American forces: “Medal of Honor Warfighter gives … Operators a chance to tell their personal story, but Tier 1 Operators are not uniquely American. This year we’re going global and introducing international Tier 1 units in our multiplayer game and taking players to hotspots around the world.” Featuring the Polish GROM and German KSK, you’ll be fighting as some of the best men not only in multiplayer but in single-player as well. The game is to feature twelve different operators from different countries.
Look for it to hit store shelves on October 23rd for the PC, Xbox 360 & PS3. Until we receive more information, you’ll have to be kept occupied with this very awesome trailer.
