In a press release issued earlier today, Rockstar Games announced the official release date for its upcoming title, Max Payne 3. According to the publisher, the game will be available on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in North America on May 15, 2012, while the PC version will be available May 29, 2012.
This new game will take place 8 years after the conclusion of the second. Max Payne is no longer working as a detective in New York; instead he is working in São Paulo, Brazil as private security for a wealthy man named Rodrigo Bancro. After Rodrigo’s wife is kidnapped, Max is pulled into a conspiracy of warring factions in every aspect of São Paulo society.
Max Payne 3 will also feature a wide range of new and traditional multiplayer modes that build upon the themes presented in the game.
