Activision has announced that one million copies of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock — that’s all the copies to be shipped at launch — are to include copies of Soundgarden’s upcoming best-of compilation album Telephantasm one week before the album is released alone at retail.
A “twelve song career-spanning album” the album will include famous Soundgarden tracks such as Rusty Cage and Black Hole Sun, plus one new track, Black Rain, that was originally an outtake from the sessions for the band’s 1991 album Badmotorfinger. Black Rain will be included as a playable song in-game, however the rest of the tracks from Telephantasm are to be launched as paid-for DLC for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock day-and-date with the game’s launch.
