The Kane & Lynch movie may have found its main actors, but a troubled production is pushing the film’s scheduled start date back. The LA Times reports that Patrick Alessandrin (District 13: Ultimatum) was set to direct, but sources say he’s now off the film. Producers are searching for a new director, and some possible names include Wayne Kramer (Running Scared), F. Gary Gray (Italian Job), and Antoine Fuqua (Training Day).
The film was scheduled to start production in October, but it has been pushed back. A spokesperson for Millennium says the start date is now “TBD,” or to be determined. The movie does have big name talent lined up, including Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis in the title roles. But this is coming up against studios feeling unsure about the value of game properties, after some like Prince of Persia or Max Payne have failed to deliver at the box office.
