This week, two pieces of gaming hardware saw major boosts in Media Create’s Japanese sales charts for one central developmental philosophy: Innovation. For example, the 360 got a 229 percent boost in sales on the back of the launch of the innovative, motion-sensing Kinect, which moved 26,000 units during its first two days on Japanese store shelves. That’s an increase of 4,934 Xbox 360s sold, most of which likely came from the Kinect console bundles which launched alongside the device.
The PSP, on the other hand, saw a 139 percent increase up to 96,601 units sold, largely due to the fact that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd‘s Japanese release is less than a week away.
