Akira Yamaoka admits his nation’s games industry is "struggling" to appeal globally.
It’s not only outspoken former Capcom man Keiji Inafune who thinks the Japanese games industry is unable to compete with the West’s in its current form. Famed Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, who most recently served as sound director on Grasshopper Manufacture’s new XBLA shooter Sine Mora, also thinks Japanese developers are "struggling" to create games that appeal to a global audience.
