The following Gameplay Footage “It’s A Wrap” is a demo of the game. Therefore, the footage you see may or may not be featured in the game’s final version. Also, there may be some noticeable bugs in the game.
In this Gameplay Video, Ready Set plays It’s A Wrap’s Demo.
The difficult puzzle game It’s a Wrap! is based on the production of blockbusters in 1980s Hollywood. As the director, determine the ideal timing for the use of the performers, props, and special effects. Then, in a conventional 2D platformer, enter the scenario as the movie’s lead character.
I was fascinated by the idea of the game when I first saw the It’s A Wrap trailer. There aren’t many video games that I can think of that do this. Again, I’ve been gaming for years, so there’s a chance that there are titles out there that do this, but I’ve never come across any. But as someone who edits videos, I found this to be a rather intriguing idea.
You take control of Johnny, an action hero who is starring in an action movie. You are introduced to the Tutorial of the game which uses a keyboard and mouse as its way of playing. It should be noted that the game page also states it can use a controller, but in my playthrough, I used a keyboard and mouse. After going through the Tutorial you come upon your first scene. You read the script to know what to expect in the scene and then it’s time to figure out how the scene is going to play, by using the bars on the video editor to adjust the scene so that Johnny can reach the flag and end the scene.
I like that the puzzles weren’t exactly easy to solve, and I really had fun using the editor to solve the puzzles. I’m hoping that with the Steam Deck now being a thing; the game will also play on Steam Deck because this would be an awesome game to have on the go. The game currently has a demo available on Steam, with no date for when the game does release. However, if you are into puzzle platformer games I recommend giving It’s A Wrap a wishlist and trying out the demo for yourself.
If you would like to play the demo and wishlist It’s A Wrap for yourself, you can do so on PC via Steam.
