Inception could be making its way to a gaming platform near you, according to the film’s writer, director, and producer Christopher Nolan. Variety reports that the filmmaker revealed plans for an Inception videogame spin-off at a press conference celebrating the movie’s theatrical debut in Italy.
“We are looking at doing is developing a videogame based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can’t fit into a feature film,” Nolan told his Rome audience. “That’s something we’ve been talking about and are looking at doing long term, in a couple of years.”
Nolan’s latest has grossed $753 million worldwide since it premiered in London on July 8 of this year. Its story revolves around a team of corporate spies who infiltrate a sleeping target’s mind in order to steal secrets — a concept that Psychonauts fans ought to appreciate.
