Halo Reach is this season’s landmark exclusive for Xbox 360 owners, but those who bought a new 4 GB Xbox 360 Slim model are finding that the co-op has been rendered off-limits. Nukezilla reports that owners of the new model are receiving the error message, “One or more players do not have the hard drive required for this game type” (above). According to Microsoft’s FAQs, the game requires a “certified hard drive.” Apparently the 4 GB of internal memory doesn’t count.
The source also notes that a Bungie forum post points to the same issue in Halo 3 ODST. Fortunately, Microsoft has told Eurogamer that the problem is temporary. “We are aware of the issue and are quickly working to resolve it,” said a spokesperson.
