Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is set to be released on Tuesday, November 15, the 10-year anniversary of the original Combat Evolved‘s release. Many will be excited to play the prettied-up campaign, while others may only care about reliving some of the classic multiplayer maps fans fell in love with a decade ago. For those who are only interested in the latter, there’s an easy way to save $25.
Halo Anniversary’s multiplayer runs on the Halo: Reach engine as opposed to an updated version of Combat Evolved’s. That means Reach owners will have the option of purchasing the Anniversary map pack and playing the remade multiplayer maps without having to buy the Anniversary disc. Anniversary buyers who don’t own Reach will launch the maps directly from Anniversary, while those who own both are recommended to install the maps so they can be accessed from either game.
