Google launched their new app store today, featuring games designed to run inside their Chrome browser (via Gamasutra).
Among the companies developing for the store include PopCap (Plants vs. Zombies), Zynga (Farmville) and Electronic Arts (Poppit). There are currently 195 games listed for the service.
EA COO John Schappert expressed enthusiasm for the new platform, “We were able to convert [Poppit] into a state-of-the-art HTML5 web app in less than 48 hours,” Schappert said at the event “It’s blazing fast. It’s simply the fastest Poppit we’ve made.”
