A survey conducted by Google reveals that gaming is the most popular activity on tablets: 84% of respondents say playing games is something they do with their device.
Google AdMob surveyed 1,430 people in the United States last month to see just how much people are using tablet devices (such as the iPad or Xoom) and what they’re doing with them. One in three people said they’re using the tablet more often than they watch television, and 68% of people use it for at least one hour per day. It’d be interesting to see what effect tablet ownership has had on time spent with gaming devices; that’s not shown, but the survey does note that 77% of people have used their desktop or laptop less since getting a tablet.
Activities other than gaming that were popular included searching for information (78%), emailing (74%), and reading the news (61%).
