The Gamebryo engine that has powered games such as Fallout 3 has been sold to Korea-based Gamebase, the company announced today. They plan to use developer Emergent’s assets and technology to create a new U.S. company.
Former Emergent sales vice president David Brame will become the group’s new president. He said in a statement that Gamebase will begin by updating the Gamebryo devs around the world.
“Scott Johnson, the former CEO of Emergent, has worked diligently to ensure a positive transition of ownership and has kept the best interests of the Gamebryo community at the forefront during the entire acquisition process,” he added.
