Hitman: Sniper, the new sniper-centric mobile game from Square Enix Montreal, is now available for $5.
First announced last June, a demo of Sniper was released in Canada last fall. At the time, it was expected to be a free-to-play game, but it’s instead been released as a traditional paid title that doesn’t rely on microtransactions.
The trailer above provides a sense of what to expect from Sniper, which has you taking out various targets from a distant, fixed position. You’ll be able to eliminate enemies by shooting them or coming up with more creative solutions, like shooting out glass that causes one enemy to fall on top of another. Aside from finding these alternatives, Sniper offers leaderboards to provide you with a reason to replay levels.
This is the second Hitman game to come to mobile, following Hitman Go. The stellar turn-based strategy game, which is designed to resemble a sort of board game, was among the five nominees for GameSpot’s best mobile game of 2014 award. (It was beaten out by Hearthstone.)
You can grab Sniper now on the iOS App Store or Google Play.
