For those of who enjoyed Square’s first foray into current-generation consoles with 2010′s Final Fantasy XIII, you’re in luck. The demo for the game’s direct sequel, Final Fantasy XIII-2, is available now for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. With Final Fantasy XIII originally slated as a PS3 exclusive title, the demo is nowhere to be found on the Playstation Network to us non-plus members, believe me I looked.
According to Square Enix, the game takes place three years after the events in Final Fantasy XIII, where Lightning has gone missing and Snow is nowhere to be found. In a rebuilding world, Serah encounters a mysterious man named Noel, and together they set off to find Lightning. Japan’s famed video-game magazine Famitsu already rated FFXIII-2 a perfect 40/40. Try it for yourself now and if you want all of the cinematic action, Final Fantasy XIII-2 launches January 31, 2012 in the U.S.
