Developer Polytron advises against downloading patch, is “floored” issue made it to release.
Downloadable puzzle-platformer Fez’s patch released today may corrupt saved games, according to developer Polytron’s Twitter post and website. The posts advise against downloading the patch unless players already cannot access the game.
“We’re floored that this wasn’t found in testing,” the website states. The title update was intended to correct several bugs and performance issues that have plagued the game since its launch.
If the patch has already been downloaded, the site advises affected players to delete their system caches as a potential solution. If this does not protect their progress, no other workaround is known.
