The Guild and Friends stars among a host of well-known voices to be found in Bethesda’s next post-apocalyptic RPG.

Some developers prefer to use versatile voice actors, such as Nolan North, who can blend into almost any situation. However, there has been a trend recently to attempt to use more distinguishable and famous voices to lend an air of celebrity to proceedings. EA’s Mass Effect recently raised the bar when it came to engaging external talent with an all-star cast including Martin Sheen, Adam Baldwin, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Seth Green. Fallout: New Vegas seems to be going down a similar route, with a host of well-known voices being confirmed by the publisher to USA Today.

The main radio station DJ will be voiced by Wayne Newton, whose 30,000 live shows in the Nevada desert over the years have earned him the nickname Mr. Las Vegas, but he won’t be the only musical legend present in the cast. Kris Kristofferson is also in the game, playing Chief Hanlon, “a grizzled soldier at the end of his career,” according to the reports.

The biggest name to be confirmed is Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the long-running sitcom Friends. Backing him up are the likes of Zachary Levi, seen most recently as the eponymous geek-cum-spy in NBC’s Chuck, The Guild’s Felicia Day, and The Wire’s John Doman. A couple of well-known Star Trek actors will also be lending their voices to the project with Michael Dorn and Rene Auberjonois both signed up.

Fallout: New Vegas is due out on October 19 in the US and October 22 in the UK. It is rated M by the ESRB and 18 by PEGI. For more on the game, check out the gameplay movie below or either of GameSpot’s recent previews.
