The recent news that Nintendo has permanently discontinued the DS Lite inspired me to hunt one down for myself for playing GBA games and the occasional English-language import (Solatorobo, Last Window) that would be region-locked on DSi. Admittedly, I have an old Zelda limited edition Lite, and that would be perfectly fine… if not for the fact that it’s slowly dying. Most recently, the shoulder buttons stopped working, and no amount of the ol’ blow-and-puff trick will fix them. But that’s OK, because I’ve always wanted a green Lite. After hunting around, I finally found a new unit for a decent price on eBay from a seemingly reputable vendor and pulled the trigger.
