I played The Crew a few months ago, and shared some information and impressions about it at the time. The Crew is playable at Ubisoft’s booth here at E3 2014, but there isn’t a whole lot of new information to be gleaned about the game from this experience. Ferrari is now a represented manufacturer in the game, and I did race against other players in a type of environment in the game that I hadn’t seen before, a southern bayou.

This team-based race (two teams of three, though the actual game supports up to four on a side) took me over wooden bridges and through shallow waters. I’m still not convinced that the handling in The Crew is where it needs to be–regardless of the type of terrain I happen to be racing on, I don’t feel the interaction between my tires and the ground reflected much in the controls–but the variety of environments you can traverse and explore across its open-world America seems impressive.

The Crew is scheduled for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 11, with a beta launching on July 23.
