Techland’s resort-set survival horror title arriving for 360, PS3, PC later this year; new trailer inside.
LOS ANGELES–Deep Silver and Techland closed out the week before the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo with first word on the collector’s edition for its new zombie-infused survival horror game Dead Island. Three days later, and Techland has returned with more word on Dead Island.
Today, Techland said that Dead Island will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on September 6 in North America and September 9 elsewhere in the world. That release follows shortly on from Techland’s other major project, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which will be published by Ubisoft this summer.
Set on a secluded resort, Dead Island tells the brutal story of everyday civilians caught up in a zombie apocalypse. Gamers can choose between four character classes, which break down into the leader, tank, jack-of-all-trades, and assassin archetypes. Every single character starts out the same way–suddenly attacked by zombies at the hotel, knocked out, and dragged to a nearby pool house converted to a shelter.
