Dynopunk: Welcome to Synth-City is a sarcastic adventure with cyberpunk aesthetics set in a future where dinosaurs have replaced people. Become a top-tier repair shop mechanic: fix electronics, have heart-to-heart conversations, and serve drinks to customers – anything to accomplish your ultimate ambition.
You play as Chris, one of the few remaining T-rexs who has opted to relocate to Synth-City to pursue a career as a repairman at RepaiRex. The game begins by introducing you to a Sarcastic 3D-Printer, who assists you with repairs in the shop and shows you how to perform them. The repairs take the shape of a mini-game in which you must cut out microchips based on the condition indicated.
Aside from repairs, you must also keep your customers satisfied by listening to their stories and responding effectively. There is a small box in the lower left corner that indicates how the client is feeling at the time, and the slider will move to the left if they are feeling down and to the right if they are feeling up.
One of the things I like best about Visual Novels is that they are becoming more participatory. The interactive bits serve to break up the continual reading, and it’s wonderful that they’ve moved on to incorporating features that can help develop the tale and keep you wanting to play/read more.
