Bethesda just released the first gameplay trailer for Dishonored, and it’s making me excited to take down stilt-wearing bodyguards with flaming arrows and stuff. Watch it below:
I’m really digging the Bioshock feel to the trailer. If they’re able to combine Bioshock-level story with Skyrim-level first-person action with a Fallout-style dystopian setting, I know what I’ll be playing in the fall.
If you’re unfamiliar with Dishonored, let me break it down for you. You play a bodyguard who is framed for murder, and you go out for revenge. Set in a steampunk world with supernatural influences, you get to choose how you take down your enemies.
In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your targets under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn.
The game is set to release for the 360, PS3, and PCs in North America on October 9, 2012 and in Europe 3 days later (but I’m sure we’ll all hear a little bit more about the game at E3 this year.
