LONDON, Ontario – Aug. 27, 2024 – Digital Extremes met players at Gamescom this year with another TennoVIP community celebration. The team brought a goodie bag of announcements with them, including the name of Warframe‘s untitled Q3 Update, a deluxe skin for Warframe Volt, the first screenshot of a new Warframe, Cyte-09, concept art for the anime short collaboration with The Line, and details on the next volume of in-game Nightwave rewards.
During the Into The Infinite Gamescom showcase, gameplay trailers aired for both Warframe: 1999 (coming Winter 2024) and Soulframe (public testing Fall 2024).
- Warframe’s “Unannounced Fall Update” now has a name: Koumei and Five Fates. This Update is inspired by the development team’s love for Japanese culture and exploring the societal idea of protecting “good fortune.” Aside from a new piece of teaser art, a full deep dive of everything arriving in this Update will take place during a live presentation at Tokyo Game Show, including a look at the 58th Warframe.
- Volt, one of the original first three Warframes, will also be getting a new “thunder god inspired” deluxe skin in the Koumei and Five Fates Update this Fall, teased in the latest concept art and a work in progress screenshot.
- The 59th Warframe, Cyte-09, who was previously shown off as Protoframe Quincy at TennoCon 2024, will arrive alongside the highly anticipated new chapter of Warframe’s story, Warframe: 1999, this Winter. TennoVIP attendees got a first sneak peek of Cyte-09’s in-game model and his ever stylish beret.
- Animation arthouse THE LINE shared a behind the scenes look at their upcoming anime short for Warframe: 1999 with some character concept art for Protoframe Lettie.
- The next volume of Nightwave rewards will hit the airwaves on Sept. 3 with a series of Stalker-themed rewards including new operator gear and sigils.
