Bungie has detailed additional changes in its upcoming Destiny 1.1.1 patch, which has a large impact on the game’s Weekly Heroic Strikes. Prior to the patch, Weekly Heroic Strikes could be entered by players regardless of whether they were in a group or playing solo.
After patch 1.1.1 is implemented in the game, Weekly Heroic Strikes will use matchmaking to form parties of players, removing the option to go through it alone. This will affect all levels of the Weekly Heroic, though Nightfall will remain unaffected. Matchmaking won’t be implemented in Raids, which Bungie says are more reliant on “groups of communicative players who are invested in each other.”
Other changes which are part of the patch include a fix to the heavy ammo bug, balance fixes to weapons, and the ability to view a player’s in-game reputation with faction vendors.
Destiny’s next downloadable content pack is called House of Wolves. Bungie has said it won’t make the same mistakes in this DLC, with plans to improve the progression system.
