It’s a rare case when we go to a press event and pass by the PS3, 360, and Wii versions of a game in favor of the DS one. But that’s exactly what happened at Sega’s recent Thor demo day, in large part because the DS game — developed by WayForward Technologies — features some of the best 2D sprite graphics around. So we asked the developers to provide a series of images to give a closer look at the art in the upcoming game, and they sent over shots of the high-resolution backgrounds before they were shrunk to work as backdrops, the old-school beat ’em up minigame designed to highlight the 2D pixel art, and a new two-screen boss fight with the beast Ymir.
