Child of Eden, the upcoming multi-sensory rhythm shooter from Q Entertainment, is a sequel and, in many ways, a second take on the core concept of Rez. An on-rails rhythm/shooter experience, Rez represented a bold attempt to combine the experience of sounds, visuals, and interactivity (also referred to as synesthesia) into a cohesive experience.
As you shoot down enemy targets in Rez, samples and sound effects are queued and played to supplement the pulsing rave-style stage music. The journey to the game’s core, Eden, is highlighted through these unique audio/visual interactions and the cavalcade of image and sound it creates.
