Imageepoch, the Tokyo-based developer of games like Arc Rise Fantasia and the Luminous Arc series, is getting into game publishing in their home country. The press conference where the RPG veterans will announce their full publishing plans isn’t due to begin for another couple hours in Japan, but a few details are beginning to leak out now, thanks to this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
Among the games Imageepoch has up its sleeve is apparently Chevalier Saga Tactics, a PlayStation Network title and the first one the studio’s developed for a hi-definition platform. Set in a traditional medieval European tableau, the game has you taking the role of a knight pressed into service after invaders rob the prince you serve of most of his territory. You job: create a force, attack the enemy, and get your land back.
Imageepoch is promising two different game modes in Chevalier: a singleplayer “SRPG mode” where you give individual orders to each of your soldiers, and a “large-scale combat mode” where you team up with other people online to direct a much vaster force on the battlefield. The units at your disposal run the gamut from fighters to knights, wizards, and other typical RPG jobs.
