While alot of us at the Daily Gamepad are true retro gamers through and through we valve it when a developer constructs a game that brings us back to the past a few examples are: Bionic Commando Rearmed, Dark Void Zero, and 3D Dot Game Heroes.
A brief example of Breath of Death 7 is very simple it parades and pays tribute to the dragon warrior/quest series, now seeing this is a Jrpg Style game with a story plot if I mention too much it would ruin it, but a strong thing to notice this game has a strong sense of humor about itself and doesn’t care to express it. which is good due to too many Jrpgs act too serious and don’t give a good expression of the characters interacting with one another. You mainly control, a Skeleton, a Ghost when you begin the game who which have quite a few funny parts I myself busted out with laughter. The Leveling system allows you to expend almost how you wish it too with two options as you level giving you some leg space on this 5 hour game, which only toke us, while alot of rpgs take close to 30, this game is short.
The game play is pretty straight forward and flat out fun, though a few problems that you consider while playing a rpg is you will be unclear where to level at points due to monsters having a weird level Gap. Aside from that the game presents itself to be very simple and easy to follow other then guessing where you need to level for many ventures into some dungeons and new locations. The game over all is something that would do pretty awesome if they can render it down a tiny bit and fit it on a Nes cart for release(I would buy it!), I would strongly see this going into the market as well for Wiiware if remastered(wiiware fan-boys are picky sadly). Over all I strongly recommend this title for you’re arcade the price and valve of the game with extra difficulties and new ways to go about leveling you’re character I see this as a awesome investment for downloading today at one Dollar.
