It looks like Electronic Arts has been very busy when it comes to their military shooters. They’ve just released Medal of Honor, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (pictured above) came out earlier this year, a Vietnam expansion is due for Bad Company 2 before the year’s end, Battlefield 3 is also currently in development, and now EA’s Ben Cousins has revealed that there is yet another new Battlefield game in the works, set for a big reveal on Friday.
“Flying to London later today to show a new, unannounced #Battlefield game to the press. News goes public on Friday. (NOT #BF3),” read a tweet on Cousin’s Twitter account. Yes, this is obviously just a tease for the big Friday announcement, which Cousins provided no further details about, but this does at least reveal the existence of another Battlefield title separate from the upcoming Battlefield 3 (which EA still hasn’t really given much info on, either).
So what could the new game be? Another spin-off for the franchise, similar to the Bad Company series? A return to its WWII-era roots? The totally unexpected announcement of an entirely melee-based Battlefield: Third Punic War? When we find out, we’ll of course pass it on.
