We all know Blizzard has some brand new MMO in development to eventually succeed World of Warcraft, and for a while it’s been rumored to be codenamed “Titan” — even showing up on a purportedly leaked four-year release schedule late last month (via MMOGameSite). Now it can at least be said that “Titan” is technically no longer a rumor.
Speaking with Destructoid before the Spike TV VGAs last Saturday, Blizzard’s Frank Pearce spilled the very limited amount of beans. “The media is not supposed to know anything about [Titan],” Pearce said. “It’s our next-gen MMO, and we’ve only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we wanted to leverage the fact that we’re working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting, getting some of the best talent in the industry on that project.”
And that’s all he had to say about that. But hey, at least it’s now confirmed, right? Pearce went on to also talk briefly about the World of Warcraft movie and the upcoming StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, but unsurprisingly, he didn’t have anything new to say about either subject.
