Mojang Founder Markus “Notch” Persson, tweeted today that his company and Bethesda had come to a settlement in their dispute. The lawsuit was over the name “Scrolls”, which Mojang intended to name their next game. He again tweeted that the terms of the settlement are that Bethesda is given the trademark, while Mojang gets to keep the name of Scrolls and won’t make an Elder Scrolls competitor. Notch also said, answering a question from a fan, that Mojang did not have to pay any damages to Bethesda. He did, however, joke that both side’s lawyers certainly made a lot of money.

I’ve emailed Bethesda for comment and confirmation of the terms. We’ll be sure to update you if we here back.
