PadFone_Infinity_Updated_2013

ASUS first introduced its PadFone back in 2011 at Computex, using Taiwan as a testbed, and selling over 10,000 PadFones a month between April and August. ASUS also launched the original PadFone Infinity there in May, and managed to sell between 200 and 300 devices daily between June and August.

After all this testing, an updated PadFone Infinity was released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia, UAE, and a large portion of Europe. Now it finally looks as though the PadFone will be making its way to the US.

The release is part of a dual-series strategy, with the high end line of PadFones, the PadFone Infinity, being released in the US and Europe, and a more “mainstream” line, the PadFone Mini, being released in Asia. According to the CEO of ASUS, the PadFone Infinity will be released on a “large US operator”.

Specs on the new PadFone Infinity have yet to be released, but ASUS CEO Jerry Shen dropped a hint that it might include a new and improved keyboard dock.
