New release slate led by Splash Damage’s new multiplayer shooter and new entry in Lego videogame series.
While last week was filled with Norse mythology, bullet hell, and zombie killings, players will have their hands filled with team-based shooting in a flooded Earth, some hack-and-slash in a medieval time, and block-breaking in a pirate-heavy universe. Brink leads the charge, and will be out for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The first-person shooter pits the Resistance and Security faction fighting it out in a floating city called The Ark. The game allows players to either take the fight online with other players or play through the single-player mode with bots. Brink’s main feature is the SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) System which allows for smooth navigation without any tricky inputs. Brink will be on local shelves tomorrow.
Up next is The First Templar for both the PC and Xbox 360. This action-RPG tells the story of a French Templar knight and his quest to uncover an overarching conspiracy within the Templar Order. The game features multiplayer co-op modes and a single-player campaign that gives players the opportunity to switch between two different characters with varied play styles. Gamers can look forward to traversing in the Dark Ages tomorrow.
Capping off this week is the Lego-fied iteration of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. This action title brings in the swashbuckling pirate-laced essence from the famous trilogy of movies while also putting in the all-ages charm of the Lego videogame franchises players can find in the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones games. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean will be out tomorrow and will be on all major consoles.
