The rumors have been circulating for a couple of days, but now 1UP can officially confirm that AMD does indeed have two new GPUs hitting market tomorrow, October 22nd: The AMD Radeon HD 6850 and the AMD Radeon HD 6870. The cards are an evolution from AMD’s current 5000 family that will presumably drop in price once the 6800 series
hits the market. The new cards are set to retail for a suggested etail price (SEP) of $179 depending on the configuration. These are also the first series of cards that AMD is releasing without the ATI brand (AMD acquired ATI several years ago) and are designed to make PC gaming much more affordable to the consumer.
