Rare’s focus for some time now has been on Kinect and games designed for the controller-free Xbox 360 accessory. One of its more traditional games (which means it’s one of its canceled games), Kameo 2, never saw the light of day. Thanks to the website of a graphic engineer who worked at Rare for the better part of a decade, some images of what the Kameo sequel could have looked like have been posted online.
The most immediate and significant change from the original Kameo: Elements of Power is the realistic art style. The basic idea of what the game’s protagonist looks like remains the same except the cartoon-style graphics of its predecessor were dropped in favor of what you see above.
The few Kameo 2 images hosted on the website of Sergey Rakhmanov carry a date of 2008, pegging them around a year prior to when reports came out that the game had been canceled alongside sequels to other, unspecified Rare franchises. (One of which may have been Perfect Dark Core.)
