Netflix is now available in Canada, marking the first instance in which the service has been available outside the United States.
In a bit of a reversal from the United States, the service is currently available on the PS3 and the Wii in Canada, but not the Xbox 360. The service will become available on Microsoft’s console later this fall.
Netflix ended up catching a bit of heat during the launch promotion, as it was revealed that they had paid extras speaking with reporters during an event. An information sheet handed out to the extras said, “Extras are to look really excited, particularly if asked by media to do any interviews about the prospect of Netflix in Canada.” (via The Star)
