The Just Cause series has had robust modding communities, and developer Avalanche is trying to make Just Cause 3 as open to mods as it can. It may even be looking to bring the game’s mods to consoles.

During an appearance on GameSpot’s E3 2015 stage, game director Roland Lesterlin said that the studio has been working on expanding mod availability and is thinking about bringing support to consoles. “We’ve been wanting to do quite a lot of that stuff for awhile,” he responded when asked about Fallout 4‘s mod support on the Xbox One and if Avalanche has any similar plans. “We’re not announcing anything there yet, but… we would want to support [mods] as much as possible.”

During its E3 conference, Fallout developer Bethesda announced that mods for Fallout 4 can be used on the Xbox One and, later, the PlayStation 4. Because Microsoft is helping Bethesda solve problems related to bringing mods to consoles, the support will only be on the Xbox for a period of time after release.

Avalanche showed off Just Cause 3 at E3, and you can read our impressions of the game here. It launches on December 1 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
