A few days ago, an ESRB listing for a game called MotorStorm 3D Rift popped up and had people wondering if there was another entirely new MotorStorm game in development in addition to MotorStorm Apocalypse. As it turns out, 3D Rift is, in a way, a new MotorStorm game, but not a full, disc-based game. Instead, 3D Rift is a downloadable MotorStorm with 3D support that will be released on the PlayStation Store tomorrow for $9.99.
10 tracks from MotorStorm Pacific Rift (pictured above) have been pulled for use in 3D Rift along with several of the game’s vehicles. Each of the 10 tracks has a unique event to complete and the game can be played in either 3D or 2D.
Currently the only MotorStorm game available in 3D has been the Pacific Rift demo. While this will require a bit of an extra investment for Pacific Rift owners, at least they’ll finally be able to enjoy more — albeit not all — of the game in 3D.
