Indie hit Thomas Was Alone has now sold over 1 million copies to date, creator Mike Bithell said today on Twitter. The game is available today across PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC. Presumably, that sales figure represents the total number of units sold across all platforms.

“Not bad for a crappy little Flash game,” Bithell said, likely in jest, about the achievement.

He’s not swimming in piles of cash, though, he says. The bulk of the 1 million units sold came through bundles/discounts/promotions, he pointed out.

“So stop your 1mil x $10 maths right now,” Bithell said with a winky face. If Bithell did indeed sell every copy of Thomas Was Alone at $10, the game would have generated $10 million.

Thomas Was Alone is currently available as a free download for PlayStation Plus subscribers, but Bithell pointed out that the 1 million figure does not include any of these downloads.

Bithell is currently working on stealth-based game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita called Volume. The game will also be available on PC when it’s released later this year.
