What’s got Sora, Donald, and Goofy (and, okay, Mickey too) so worked up? It may have something to do with the fact that they’ve got three months to wait for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded’s release — and even then, they’ll still be speaking in Japanese. (If you’ve never heard Donald Duck speak Japanese, do so at once. It’s the cutest thing. Promise.)
Square Enix confirmed today that the Nintendo DS remake of the mobile-phone entry in the KH series will come out October 7 in Japan, at a price of 5490 yen. The game has no set release date in the US, but was shown at E3 last month and is a definite go for America sometime or other.
The publisher also released a bit more this week about Re:coded’s battle system, which has a feature they’re calling Overclock. Sounds fancy, perhaps, but you’ve probably seen it in other games before — it’s a gauge that fills up as you attack and use skills, and after it’s filled enough, it automatically unlocks healing, support abilities, and other neat bonuses. Maybe that’s what has Donald in a huff — he bought the new Famitsu to find out what’s new with Re:coded, and that’s all they had printed in it. Ah well.
