Netflix has started the process of rolling out version 3.0 of their app for Android devices bringing an overhaul of the interface to improve it aesthetically and performance-wise. Unfortunately, Netflix has still not added support for profiles, which can be accessed on every other platform, in this latest update. Lacking that, the update still seems to be well done and you will probably want to grab it as soon as it is available.
The general layout of the app remains similar to the current version, but everything is much crisper, is closer to following the Holo design framework, and seems to have lost that “html wrapper” feel and leans more toward being a native client. The action bar at the top now includes an overflow menu button on the right hand side and a “hamburger” button on the left that actually pulls out the navigation drawer.
One of the nice things about Netflix has been support for Chromecast for users who have one of the devices and Netflix has worked to improve that interaction as well. The remote function has been cleaned up a bit and the lockscreen controls now occupy a widget space instead of taking over the whole screen.
