Interested in getting Android 4.3 on your HTC One? Thanks to developer LlabTooFeR on XDA, you won’t have to wait until that late September release from HTC. Instead, you can now grab a custom ROM from LlabTooFeR that’s based on an unofficial, pre-release build of HTC’s Android 4.3 update, which has a handful of minor tweaks for speed and stability. He also said he’ll be releasing the untouched build in a few days, so if you’re not a fan of the tweaks in custom ROMs, you can stick to a completely stock option.
The early build shows a few improvements to the HTC One’s strong suite of apps and features. There are a few new shortcuts to settings and apps in the app drawer, including ones for data usage, a task manager, and mobile hotspot. On top of that, HTC Zoe has gotten a few improvements, including the ability to add your own music to video highlight reels, and the option to sync picture changes to the rhythm of the music playing. There’s nothing drastic going on, but it’s a bunch of solid improvements that will definitely make HTC One owners happy to have.
If you’re interested in flashing the ROM on your One, you can hit the links below to get started. Obviously you’ll have to be rooted with a custom recovery installed to flash, like any other ROM. And from the looks of it, there’s no Verizon One support (yet) but most other variants should be okay to test drive Android 4.3.
