Seven-year studio veteran T.J. Fixman leaving the company to pursue screenwriting.
Seven-year Insomniac Games writer T.J. Fixman has left the Ratchet & Clank studio to pursue a career in screenwriting, he announced through his blog recently.
Fixman explained that in the past year, he signed on to write for feature films like One Night on the Hudson and 2015’s Ratchet & Clank movie and was recently offered feature assignments at Disney and New Line.
“Now I’m tallying up hours in the day and figuring out how I’d be able to get my pages done on time, and it became immediately clear it was time to make the leap,” Fixman said.
Though Fixman has left Insomniac, he will remain producer on the Ratchet & Clank movie and said he has made sure the company has everything it needs for the PlayStation 3 game Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.
“My relationship with Insomniac will continue, as will my involvement with the video game industry,” Fixman said. “How it will all coalesce is something I’ll work out along the way, but I could never abandon the industry that has given me so much.”
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will launch this holiday season only on the PS3.
