HTC may not be the only Android smartphone manufacturer looking at a mid-year update of their flagship device to take advantage of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 800 processor if a recently discovered AnTuTu benchmark scored is to be believed. The AnTuTu entry is listed as a GT-I9506 variant of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and is supposedly similar to the LTE-A version, but intended for the global market.
The benchmark shows a device running a Snapdragon 800 at 2.3GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU. The score of 31123 is consistent with the Snapdragon 800. If a new, faster version of the Galaxy S 4 is on its way, it could be announced at IFA 2013 on September 3rd in Berlin. At the same time, this could just be a fake as AnTuTu benchmarks are not that difficult to manipulate.
