Root Explorer is one of the top file management apps around for Android users, due in large part to its straightforward approach and simplified style. Still, the user interface was a bit dated until today’s update. The app has added tabs for easy navigation, as well as a few extra interface tweaks including a new action bar and fully customizable list icons. Looks aren’t the only thing that has changed, as Root Explorer now syncs with Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net, or any standard SMB server. In addition, processes can now occur in the background, with notification alerts to let you know what’s happening.
You can find the change log after the break, as well as a download link for the updated app.
What’s New:
- Multiple tabs.
- Network (SMB), Google Drive, Box and Dropbox support.
- Concurrent, background processing of multiple operations with notifications.
- New action status with progress display and ability to cancel all long-running operations.
- Action bar and multi-select action mode support.
- Fully customizable list icons.
- For details of new permissions requested see the full app description.
