A device that assists gamers find there comfort zone. Is a easy term to describe this device. Besides a few downsides, it holds its own very strongly as a hardcore gamers dream. Out of the box for this unit you are granted the wireless Xbox360 gamepad device, and a wireless USB blutooth toggle to plug into the device itself. For the price of 60 dollars you are given many options, and so much to work with. Ether you simply wanting to plug and play with your PS3 controller into your Xbox360, or hooking up your Wii mote to your PS3 to play move games. Out of the package we instantly set up the Keyboard and Mouse to sync in with our PS3 and played Battlefield 3. Our main concern, which was the devices slight issue is if a mouse has a sensitivity setting on the mouse itself could cause the movement to be stiff. Our suggestion is to have a spare standard Dell mouse or a Microsoft desktop mouse near by. The cool element is this you do not have to unplug your mouse or keyboard from your laptop or PC/MAC to do so. You simple set it with the software you download from there website. The said program you use is called Bullseye. Which in tern is a useful tool. Allowing you test if a controller works. As well as swap from your PC to your console. How does this work, well you plug the Cronus to your PS3 or Xbox360, then plug the mini usb to Usb into your PC. Then from that point click Capture mode, which disables your mouse and keyboard to work on your PC til pressing ESC+ CTRL releases it and returns you access to your desktop.

As I played for a few hours of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty Blackops I felt powerful. Now this is not the advertising fairy in our throat, we had complete control over our sights. Some will try to mention the 8 direction limitations of the game pads right analog stick within fair reason, how ever this did not apply. It felt as if you we were playing on PC. Sniping was dead on. People died, my score multiplied.

The Quality of the device is very durable. Packaging was simple, but displayed all elements included with the device. The design of the said device mimics flash Usb devices. It is big enough to fit into a pocket. Now I put this beast into a ton of tests. Using various USB devices. From NES USB controllers all the way to having the Wii more work on my PC as its intentions. The aspects of this device opens up a flood gate in my eyes.

Closing Thoughts

While a well built drive. It is almost boundless what you may do with this device. Most, if not dozens of USB based controllers can connect to this with the right mapping of the buttons. One thing that did lightly dapper us with the device on a fair note was the lack of functional support with some wireless mice. We tested it with almost 20 different controllers. Including the following. We will use this as a Legend: Y = yes, works. N = Not functional.

USB Wired Xbox360 Gamepad: Y

Wireless Xbox360 Gamepad: Y (works great with the wireless Receiver included with the Cronus.)

Keyboard & Mouse with PS3 or Xbox360 ..

This perhaps will be the crowning feature of the device. Many have a discomfort with a gamepad while playing a first person shooter. DPI is a important factor with any shooter. Depending on what Mouse you use, it all plays a big factor. While I had Zero lag with the device, I found mouse movement was stiff with certain mice, while others it moved quickly, providing instant victory with close quarter gun fights. One mouse I found for Sniping great to use is the Logitech M510. While a standard Microsoft USB mouse plugged into my PC worked smooth. It again is very dependent on which mouse you own. If you expect to use a “MLG” mouse such a razor you might see awkward DPI outputs. While functional very grayscale. The Keyboard on the other hand works with flying colors. One hundred percent response times. With presets, for BF3 or CoD, if you were or are also a PC player: Y

Wiimote with nunchuk or Classic controller Y Works.

One thing I will perhaps hear a head of time with Wiimote owners who happen to own a PS3. “Can it emulate a Move Controller?!” The Answer is boldly from my experience. No, Unless you are a modding guru, have at it. Otherwise Testing it, came false. Again this is on my end, if you had success. Feel free to post of your findings.

In conclusion, it is a great device. Once you tweak to to suit your needs, find the right controllers works like a charm. The other controllers I mentioned were all third party current generation gamepads, such as Madcats, Logitechs, etc. All having success.

While some might compare this Vs the XIM3 adapter. However in my in my books as a better valve is the Cronus.
